There are three trigger warnings here and Jennifer Armentrout doesn’t shy away from reality. “This is the shit that ends relationships. Not that I blame Avery because she DOES have a LEGIT reason to be wary. Plus, Avery’s emotional baggage was just too over the top that I didn’t think Cam would keep coming back. His persistence was pretty damn amazing because it took him MONTHS to get Avery to go out with him on a real date. He is the typical popular, hot guy who always got the girl, until Avery. Cam is the MAN!Ĭameron Hamilton is another type of hero. Her inner monologues and off-putting attitude again tugged at my heartstrings (which explains all the tears I shed for her).Īngsty romance just reminds me of myself in college so this book also felt very nostalgic. Wait for Youis told in Avery’s POV and I immediately connected with her. The AngstĪngsty romance is something that I don’t usually like but I could not help but fall in love with Avery. And it tore at my heartstrings even more. In fact, we find out about the full story when she confesses to Cam what really happened to her.
I immediately knew something was wrong with Avery, the heroine and I liked that the full story wasn’t immediately revealed in the first few chapters. I am not a fan of slow-burn romance but Wait for You was PERFECT as a slow-burn romance. I was bawling my eyes out the couple nights I listened to the audio and if I didn’t have work the next day, I would have finished listening to it all night! This Slow-Burn Romance Worked! I don’t even KNOW WHY I picked it up and whatever fairy impelled me to pick it up, THANK YOU SO MUCH BECAUSE THIS BOOK BROKE ME! In a good way, of course! Let’s just say that I am kicking myself because I didn’t read these books. To be honest, I received four of the books in this series a couple of years ago but since this wasn’t a genre that interested me, I didn’t bother reading it.
